Joe joined DBHi in 2019 as a Data Scientist in Dr. Rich Tsui’s laboratory. He came to DBHI with an extensive background in clinical and research data science. Some of his prior experience includes: working in the Department of Information Services as an Information Scientist where he helped with big data analysis of electronic health records; working in the Division of Otolaryngology developing a predictive algorithm for early detection of progressive hearing loss among high risk children with the AudGenDB project; and working with pediatric anesthesiologists to conduct multiple ongoing clinical observational studies. In his current role with the Tsui lab, his primary focus is on research of infant mortality risk and survival time prediction. Joe holds a Master of Science in Biostatistics from Tongji University, China, and a Master of Public Health and PhD in Epidemiology from Drexel University.
