Jack Wasey, MD
Jack became a member of DBHi in 2016. He is an attending anesthesiologist in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Jack’s research interests are in the application of IT to mining the largely untapped and abundant resource of administrative and clinical hospital data. Central to this is understanding the power and limitations of statistical methods when used on these data. In particular, he is interested in optimized case matching and computational methods to improve causal inference in retrospective case control studies. Jack received his BM BCh (Medicine and Surgery) from Magdalen College, University of Oxford, UK and had his residency at Johns Hopkins University in the Department of Anesthesiology. He obtained his fellowship training in Pediatric Anesthesiology at CHOP. He also holds a MSc (European Master of Renewable Energy) from École des Mines de Paris, France.
