Komal Rathi holds a Masters degree in Bioinformatics from Johns Hopkins University and joined the DBHi in April 2016 as a Bioinformatics Scientist. Prior to joining DBHi, she provided Bioinformatics support in the Leukemia Genomics Group at MSKCC and Penn Cardiovascular Institute. At MSKCC, she was involved in implementation and automatization of state-of-the-art pipelines used to analyze high throughput sequencing data. Her work at Penn included but was not limited to identifying novel lncRNAs and correlating them with known transcription factors involved in human lung development and heart failure. She is highly motivated by cancer research as it targets one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Her main goal is to develop pipelines and applications in order to support genomic analysis, automate data processing/mining and provide better data visualization methods for wet lab scientists.
