Christopher Bonafide, MD, MSCE

Chris Bonafide is an academic hospitalist in the Division of General Pediatrics and member of DBHi. In addition to his appointment as assistant professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania, he serves as a core faculty member with CHOP’s Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness. Chris’s research focuses on discovering the best methods to identify and respond to deteriorating patients in the hospital including the establishment of effective solutions to the problem of alarm fatigue. He has made important contributions in the area of rapid response systems and physiologic monitor alarm fatigue, and developed an international reputation as an expert in hospital patient safety research. Chris received his MD from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and MSCE from the University of Pennsylvania. He is board certified in pediatrics and clinical informatics.
