Bryan A. Wolf, M.D., Ph.D. was appointed Chair of CHOP’s Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics in 2014. Bryan also serves as CHOP’s Chief Scientific Officer and head of the Research Institute. Prior to this, he was Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice-President of Information Services with responsibility for all Information Services (IS) infrastructure and applications for the CHOP enterprise. In 2008, Bryan was Pathologist-in-Chief and Chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at CHOP from 2001 to 2008, where he was responsible for the day-to-day clinical operations of the department as well as for laboratory systems implementations. Bryan was also a leader in diabetes research with an emphasis on islet biology. Bryan received his M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Paris, France, and completed post-doctoral training, residency and a fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes Hospital in Saint Louis. Since 1990, he has been on the faculty of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where is he a tenured professor.
