Symposium Logo

DBHi developed the full-day Annual Next-Generation Sequencing Symposium in 2009 to give researchers and informatics professionals the opportunity to showcase the advances made in both the development of the technology and its application to research and healthcare. Primarily comprised of researchers from CHOP and the University of Pennsylvania, past disciplines that have been highlighted include oncology and tumor biomarker discovery, immunology, cardiology, and anthropology. In addition, emerging technology factors are discussed such as analysis algorithms and workflows, processing and archiving challenges, and statistical concerns.

The event's regional flavor is punctuated by national-level keynote speakers such as Richard McCombie (Cold Spring Harbor), Gabor Marth (Boston College), and Heng Li (Broad Institute).
